Немного про саму посадку, на палубе крейсера располагаются четыре троса аэрофинишера «Светлана-2». При посадке самолетов тросы приподнимаются на 12 см. Посадка осуществляется на высоких оборотах двигателей самолета, на скорости около 240 км/ч у Су 33 и 250 и Миг 29 КУБ. 13 ноября в Средиземное море упал модернизированный палубный истребитель МиГ-29КУБР (корабельный учебно-боевой, российский) их в количестве 24 самолетов получили в ВМФ России годом ранее.
