Коллекционер покупает в антикварном салоне яйцо Фаберже, но на выходе на него нападают преступники в масках. В этот же день Макса навещает старый знакомый Михаил и просит приютить его на некоторое время. Макс соглашается, не подозревая, чем в последнее время промышляет его приятель… Расследуя кражу яйца Фаберже, Макс отправляется к продавцу-антиквару, и в ходе разговора чуть не становится жертвой стрелка, который неожиданно заходит в салон и открывает огонь. Только реакция верного Пса спасает хозяина от смертельного ранения.
